Introduction:This document
describes the proper global settings for consistent Pyxis and Pyxis HD
operation. These settings may need to be checked and reset after
software update, reinstall, or a reset of system parameters done
intentionally or after a system crash. To reset all Pyxis parameters as
a troubleshooting action, see “Pyxis Safe Mode” at the end of this
section. |

Control Panel Settings Start “Control Panel”. |

| Next Double Click on “Sound and Audio Devices” |

| Select the
third tab “Audio” Pull down the “Sound playback” field. Select your third party sound card, usually a Realtek, nVidia or SoundMax device. Never select Decklink Audio or Primary Sound Driver. Select the same driver for the “Sound recording” field below in this window. |

| Now select
the fourth tab “Voice” Set both “Voice recording” and “Voice playback” to the same driver used above. Click OK. Your “Sound and Audio Devices” settings are now correct. |

While you are in Control Panel, you can check your DeckLink video capture/Playback card parameters and set as desired. Click Decklink Setup. |

Set parameters as desired. Especially check the DeckLink
output setting. Close Control Panel |

Now start Pyxis NLV Select SETUP>Hardware |

| Select your
Sound Card Driver, usually Realtek, nVidia or SoundMax , NOT DeckLink
and NOT Primary Sound Driver! This setting is critical for proper
synchronization! Click OK and OK again to close these windows. |

| Next click Setup>General Preferences and set the tabs as recommended at right or as desired. There are many settings in General Preferences that must be set based on the application. These settings at right should get any system up and running correctly. |

Pyxis NLV Safe Mode Sometimes it may be necessary to reset all the settings in Pyxis, as a troubleshooting method. Once this is done you will have to manually setup your Pyxis as described at the beginning of this document. It may be best to write down important setup parameters before entering Pyxis Safe Mode. To reset your Pyxis, click “Start>All Programs>Pyxis NLV>Pyxis NLV Safe Mode” |

| Then select
“Reset Global Settings” in Pyxis Safe Mode. Pyxis will then boot up normally. Follow instructions at the beginning of this document to get important setup parameters back. |
