Dream II Release Notes ---------------------- Version v2.5.7 (Release Version) -------------- * Bug fix - Some HD RGB encoded .avi files could crash Dream when imported and resized (to a smaller size). * Bug fix - Fix for Xynergi Transport Play/Jog randomly becoming locked out. Version v2.5.6 (Release Version) -------------- * Bug fix - Fixed compatibility with the latest version of VocALign Project (2.9.1). Version v2.5.5 (Release Version) -------------- * Improvement - Improved the finding of files via Audiobase using the returned path. It can now find files via the new returned path on Audiobase drives that are shared not as the default administrator share (i.e E$) but as a shared name. * Bug fix - Resolved a core incompatibility during the initialisation of the AudioBridge. This could result in a loss of AudioBridge (plugins and preview) operation which only a reload_core or system restart would resolve. Version v2.5.4 (Release Version) -------------- * Bug fix - Dragging sounds from the Audiobase list was not using the new path list added with Audiobase v3.2.1, but was using the old method of just using the supplied filename. * Bug fix - Fixes for Offline Waves Preview of surround material. Version v2.5.3 (Release Version) -------------- * Bug fix - previously the progress bar would not update (appear to be frozen) when backing up a project, with dv25 chosen as the destination format. * Bug fix - previously some mpeg files (.mpg and .mvf) would snap to 1 frame too early on the timeline. * Bug fix - disk space remaining with calculated incorrectly when recording to mjpeg quicktime format. * Bug fix - Another fix for Audiobase preview of Stereo material. Version v2.5.2 (Release Version) -------------- * Improvement - Now it only takes one undo to put clips back where they previously were after being moved by the mouse. * Bug fix - Fixed an issue with Audiobase preview of Stereo material on link groups. Version v2.5.1 (Release Version) -------------- * Bug fix - Fixed an issue with clicks on selection of the Alt Monitors (and removed the delay associated with a work-around for this issue). * Bug fix - Fixed a bug with Audiobase audition where on some machines the audition was always occuring on the first audio track. Version v2.5.0 (Release Version) ---------------- * Bug fix - Fixed a bug with the importing of audio from Quicktime Ref files. If the audio in the Quicktime ref file was not the length of the video, than where there should of been silence the imported clip was getting rubbish audio. Version v2.5.0b11 ---------------- * Improvement - V1.08 QMemory: registry entry for quarantined memory control. Allows size of "burn memory" to be explicitly set for a system in case the default installation is not suitable. In HKLM\SOFTWARE\FairlightAU\QMemory, set BurnMemory to: 0 = quarantine memory is disabled, burnmemory option is removed. 1 = the exact value specified by installer (248) is burned without auto-adjustment. >1 = the specified value is burned, without auto-adjustment. * Bug fix - Previously some projects with multiple layers and fades could not be exported successfully to AES31 or AAF projects. When trying to export to AAF, an error 8012011B was reported. * Improvement - Improved the detection of corrupted folderInfo files. * Improvement - The hardware "back/front" registers are disabled in Loop Jog to avoid the muting when changing EQ with core 382+. Version v2.5.0b10 ---------------- * Bug fix - Previously if an mp3 was dragged onto the video track you would only get the right channel of the mp3 on the first audio track. Now the mp3 is moved down to the first audio track so you get all the channels, which is the same behavior as dragging a wave file onto the video track. * Bug fix - Resolved yet another recently introduced issue with Automation Follows Edit. Version v2.5.0b9 ---------------- * Bug fix - ADR graphics did not appear on the decklink card. Bug introduced in v2.50a1.460. * Bug fix - Fix with the incrementing of record seed names in a link group track if each track has a different record seed name. * Bug fix - Fix for the new Automation follows Edit functionality - Erase was now happening more often than desired. * Bug fix - Fix for a possible mix compatibility issue when loading old mixes with VCA slave panning information. Version v2.5.0b8 ---------------- * Bug Fix - Includes a new version of the AAF plugin v1.0.8.2. This includes a fix to allow correct export of multi-channel audio files to embedded AAF files. * Bug Fix - Undefined EQ bands in MT clips were not saved and loaded correctly. The default frequencies were wrong. * Bug Fix - Software now enforces core/sx20 compatibility, as claimed by previous version. * Bug Fix - Restored PressHold-Editor Overlay to Alt Layouts (previously disabled by accident). Version v2.5.0b7 ---------------- * Improvement - New Hardware Core 382. N.B. Use of this core requires SX-20 Core 2.0.21 (and in fact this is enforced by the software). This has multiple fixes for certain hardware issues as follows: - Reset of Dynamics Subsystem on startup to prevent reported Dynamics initialisation issues (GR meters all down). - Reset of DMA Subsystem on startup to work around DMA stalls. This means that a DMA stall can be resolved by an application restart. - Improved PC motherboard support and handling. - Hardware Front/Back Pointers. The logic for track ramping and muting has been moved to the hardware in order to greatly improve the possibility of audio clicks/pops during editing. The track ramping logic in general has also been greatly improved. - MADI Output muting. MADI output is now muting during the system startup phase until the application is connected. - Track Input Monitor support. There is an increased Track Monitor node in order to achieve full simulataneous monitoring and metering of the 96 record channels (230 channel license). - LTC output improvements when running with Pull Up/Down. In conjunction with SX-20 Core 2.0.21, this resolves an issue of alignment of the LTC frame with the video frame, and allows correct Pull Up/Down behaviour. Version v2.5.0b6 ---------------- * Bug fix - Fixed a bug where for some edit opertions that affected the sound of a clip but not its position on the timeline (ie. reverse clip, clip based EQ) if you performed an undo to undo the edit operation the tracks cache was not being reload, so the clip sounded the same still unless you moved the timeline away and back again. This bug was introduced in 2.1 when the feature below was added: 'Now when you do an undo/redo Dream II only reloads the caches for the tracks that were changed unlike previously where all tracks caches were reloaded.' * Bug fix - Previously playing odd sized video files, in conjunction with -PRO2 command line option produced unexpected results. * Improvement - Previously if you used the mouse to drag and drop clips on the timeline and some clips were dropped on the wrong track for their media type, you would get the message 'Clip type not supported on this track.'. And the dragged clips would disappear. The only way to get them back would be to than perform an undo. Now the undo is performed automatically for you so clips that were dragged and dropped in this situation will be back in their original place on the timeline. * Bug fix - removed the Relative Link group Behaviour for now. This contains some unresolved automation issues. Version v2.5.0b5 ---------------- * Improvement - Sped up the time it takes for Dream II to shutdown by about 2 seconds. * Bug fix - Fixed a bug that occured when attempting to a nudge a clip after using the track numbers menu to swap a track with another track. Version v2.5.0b4 ---------------- * Bug fix - Previously Dream II would be very slow to open some MXF files containing 422P HL Iframe mpeg2 data. * Bug fix - Previoulsy Dream II could not display/import Quicktime files that had an odd number of pixels for a width. This is due to YUV 422 only supporting an even number of pixels for a width. For Quicktime files with an odd number of pixels Dream II drops the last pixel. * Improvement - Added an option to disable the new relative Link group behaviour. This is in the dialog, under "Relative Link Groups". * Bug fix - Resolved an issue with Automation Handles in automation follows edit. Version v2.5.0b3 ---------------- * Bug fix - Resolved a problem with undo and project loads following the timecode location of the first ADR cue. * Bug fix - Fixed an issue with DC clicks on change monitor format when using certain high noise-floor plug-ins. * Improvement - Added Track Sends and Direct outs as possible sources for the External Monitor sources. Version v2.5.0b2 ---------------- * Improvement - the import video dialog now remembers the previous custom width and height settings * Bug fix - previously resizing some quicktime files (typically mjpeg-A), whilst importing would cause the system to generate an exception or produce unexpected results. * Bug fix - Fixed an issue with the audio export automatically appending a number to the export filename. * Bug fix - Fixed an issue with automation-follows-edit with HD frame rates. Version v2.5.0b1 ---------------- * Bug fix - Hiding and viewing the Pyxis track was causing an extra audio track to be displayed each time. Version v2.5.0a20 ----------------- * Bug fix - Added SX-20 Core 2.0.20. This has several fixes relating to LTC pull up/down. Version v2.5.0a19 ----------------- * Bug fix - Previously Huffman 2:1 lossless codec would not playback on non-decklink powered systems. * Bug fix - Fixed a bug that prevented Dream II from playing uncompressed quicktime files including those encoded with BMD uncompressed codec. * New feature - Restore Multi-Channels. This command, available under the edit menu, will restore the channels of a multi channel clip that has previously been cleaved. * New feature - The new feature 'Discard Unused Media' added in 2.5.0a16 now also now works with MT projects, previously the option was grayed out for MT projects. * Improvement - The menu item 'Process -> Discard Unused Media' now also removes media that was used earlier in the current session but is no longer used. This means if you did a number of recordings but only kept a couple of them and then do the menu item 'Process -> Discard Unused Media', it will now remove those recording that are no longer used. Previously you would off had to close the project and than re-open the project before the media could be removed via 'Discard Unused Media'. Because this operation can now remove media that was used during the current session you can no longer perform an undo before this point. * Improvement - An review of the automation follows edit functionality has been performed, and functionality to allow range based operations, and automation follows Undo/Redo for these edit operations has been added. * Bug fix - Fixed display of live automation data when in Write-Snap. * New feature - Quarantined memory is disabled if HKLM/Software/FairlightAU/QMemory/Disabled is set to 1. This affects both QMemory.exe and the main application. Version v2.5.0a18 ----------------- * Improvement - EdlTool enhancements. * Bug fix - previously performing an omf export with the combination of "Export Fades As Clips" and "OMF File + Audio Files" would fail. * New Feature - Gating can now be performed using graphics profile information (instead of the actual audio data). This option is much quicker and WYSIWUG. Can be turned on or off via a persistent Debug : "Gate" "use graphic Profile data (WYSIWUG) - faster" Enabled by default. * Improvement - The loading of large projects became slower during v2.1 development, with a pause after the load progress bar finsished. The load time of large projects is now the same as it was before v2.1. * New Feature - Added the menu option 'Setup -> Reset Playhead'. This can be used when you switch back to a locked playead to re-center the playhead in the middle of the track view. * New feature - Punch Again, in Xynergi's Record Megamode, enters record at the same place as last time, but does not exit, allowing manual control. * New feature - After using disarm_all in Xynergi Record Megamode, you can transfer to Editor Megamode and have exactly the same tracks selected. This makes it easy to edit the tracks just recorded. * Improvement - Link Group markings are now shown on Live Feeds, and also for Armed Tracks, Thru Tracks, and Soloed and Muted tracks and lives. Suspension of groups can be done in any of these states. Suspension now selects pressed path as current mixer module. Resumption of the group now selects it as the current mixer module. * New Feature - In the menu option 'Tracks -> Add Clip' there is a new button labled 'Audition'. This allows you to audition the new clip onto the timeline. Press 'Enter' to complete the audition operation. * Improvement - 'Join Split' now works on a range of clips and tries to join clips within the range if possible. * Improvement - Added Automation Follows Edit Undo/Redo functionality. This is enabled during "Target Both" operations. * Improvement - Added Relative Link Group control to work alongside the new Xynergi Ungroup/Regroup functionality. Version v2.5.0a17 ----------------- * Bug fix - Fix an issue in the 'Media and Project Management' dialog where 'List Media' was also causing the projects automation to be loaded replacing the currently loaded projects automation. * Improvement - Improved the readability of the track numbers when there is alot of track displayed. * Improvement - For rolled up link tracks now displays the track numnber of the first track to make easier to identify. * Bug fix - fixed 9pin remote intermittent synch issue. * New Feature - Added the new menu item 'Process -> Discard Unused Media', which performs the same operation as the new button 'Discard Unused Media' added to 'Media and Project Management', but works on the current project that is open. * Improvement - New PLX SDK for the CC-1. Version v2.5.0a16 ----------------- * New Feature - Added a new button to the project section of 'Media and Project Management' dialog called 'Discard Unused Media'. Also added the feature of a recycle bin for each media device which unused media is moved into. The new button 'Discard Unused Media' removes any media in the selected projects media directory that is not used by any projects in the selected projects current directory. This will only remove native (recorded or localized) media, and this media is than moved to the new recycle bin. The device list has a new column reporting how much space a device's recycle bin is taking up. To clean up the recycle bins there is another new button on the dialog call 'Empty Recycle Bins'. This can be used to empty the new recycle bins when you are sure you do not need any media from them anymore. The new recycle bins if a device has one are located on each media device under the 'FairlightAU' directory and are a directory called 'Recycle Bin'. * New Feature - If you are using AudioBase3 version 3.2.1 or higher Dream II now supports searching for mp3's within Audiobase. These mp3's can than be dragged onto the timeline or Auditioned. * Bug fix - Fixed patching issues within the meter set definition page. * Improvement - Now possible to save Meter sets into console presets. * Improvement - Added "Insert Space" into the Anthem Blue Modifier menu. So to make the dragged on clips go down the tracks all you need to be doing is holding down the ctrl key when you drop the audio files on the timeline. * Improvement - saving video data within an MT file, now include information to locate the video files more readily, even if the background media scan is turned off. Only works with new MT files, not existing ones. * Improvement - Two new additions to the Marks dialog. 1. You can now enter a specific index for the new mark when creating it. 2. There is a new button 'Set Index' which allows you to change the index of existing marks. Version v2.5.0a13 ---------------- * Improvement - A clips displayed offset, is now displayed in the same display format as chosen chosen in 'View -> TimeScale'. So it is now possible to see offsets less than one frame if need be. * Bug fix - Fixed a recently introduced issue with particular Xynergi macros overwriting a tracks currently active plug-in list. Version v2.5.0a12 ---------------- * Improvement - Xynergi's "Soft" button, in the Mixer Megamode, has improved functionality: 1. It tallies all controlled functions, including all 12 auxes 2. It now works more like Faders To... a simple press and release toggles "standard" pot usage (Pan L-R) and the last used non-standard usage. By default the non-standard usage is Pan F-B, so users can toggle directly between L-R and F-B panning without visiting the selection layout. * New feature - Manual 'read only' mode for devices. This option can be set in Media and Project Management ->Choose a Device->Set Device info * New feature - Phase Invert Selected Clips * Improvement - Improved the GUI when the screen resolution is 1440x900. * Bug fix - Fixed an issue with Track Menu -> Numbers, were after swapping the tracks they would continue to play out of their old channels till the project was reloaded. * Bug fix - fixed an issue with reconforming EDLs @ 96k. * Bug fix - Fixed an issue with importing in all the audio channels from the newly created Quicktime reference files added in v2.5.0a10. * Improvement - There is now a working progress bar during a Quicktime audio import, giving you an idea how long it will take. * New Feature - If you are using AudioBase3 version 3.2.1 or later it now returns UNC paths for the searched results. Dream II now uses this UNC path if there to find the sound the user is after. This means you know longer need to do a 'Find SubFolders' in 'Media and Project Management' for Audiobase drives. * Improvement - Previously Dream II could not store non-English(ASCII) named directories meaning audio dragged in from one of these directories would appear offline next time Dream II was started. Now the deviceInfo.dsm stores its text as Unicode so can support non-ASCII character folders. NOTE: This means media devices will no longer be compatible with old Pyxis 1.3 machines as Pyxis 1.3 can not read Unicode. Pyxis 2.0 is fine as it is natively Unicode. If you need Pyxis 1.3 and Dream II to work on the same network you can use the following commandline '-SUPPORT_PYXIS1.3', and Dream II will continue to write the old style deviceInfo.dsm. * Improvement - Improved the sorting algorithm of Audiobase columns so numbers are sorted numerically. * Bug fix - Fixed a bug after gating clips, that even though the new clips looked selected you could not copy them to the clipboard. They had to be reselected first. Version v2.5.0a11 ---------------- * New Feature - Added Xynergi Mixer Set functionality. This lets the user designate some faders to follow channel selection. It is toggled on and off using the Zero button in the Fader Set layout. Holding this button down displays numbers from 1 to 24 on the Track keys, allowing the user to choose how many faders to dedicate to Mixer Set. Note: changing normal fader sets still works, but leaves the Mixer Set faders alone. Toggling Mixer Set off restores the correct contents of the current fader set. * Bug fix - (#666680) Previously capture to DV25 would crash. Introduced v2.1. Version v2.5.0a10 ---------------- * Bug fix - Fixed a crash that could occur with Quicktime introduced in v2.5.0a8. * New Feature - It is now possible to export a Quicktime reference file. It is only possible to create one of these if the video clip on the timeline is a Quicktime file. What this does is makes a new Quicktime file that references the video in the existing Quicktime file and the new audio that is made during the export process. This makes the export very quick as it does not need to export any video just audio. * New Feature - Added priliminary support for the OpenCube XFConverter utility. Version v2.5.0a9 ---------------- * Bug fix - The QMemory.exe utility used by the installer did not recognise and remove /burnmemory options that were not all lowercase, potentially leaving boot.ini in an ambiguous state. * Bug fix - snapto embedded timecode was broken for quicktimes. * Improvement - snapto embedded timecode will place a BWF at the nearest subframe, if it is close to a subframe. Version v2.5.0a8 ---------------- * Bug fix - 'Delete Project' in 'Media and Project Management' had the bug where it was loading the automation for the project that was being deleted. * Bug fix - the list of folders in media and project management did not sort correctly. * Improvement - Improved memory usage when using Quicktime video files between project sessions. * Bug fix - (#572307 & #448503) The Zoom+Jog key combination to re-scale the jog gear is now activated by the release of the Jog key instead of the depression. This is to make it more difficult to accidentally invoke this feature. Now you must press and release Jog while holding down Zoom to re-scale the jog gear. * Bug fix - Fixed a mouse editing bug that occured if you were in an edit mode that did not allow range selection i.e. modes like takes or trim mode. If you were in a mode that did not allow range selection and you picked up a linked clip with the mouse this initial pickup of a clip would work. But the link clips would get stuck selected and could not be unselected easily afterwards. * Bug fix - Previously, using Media and Project Management could cause all media to go offline. * Improvement - Improved the speed of reloading the video locators. Now only video locators that detect a change at their time are now reloaded. * Bug fix - (#661926) Fix recently introduced spurious error messages when stuffing FUFs during MT project Save and Save-As. * Improvement - It is now possible to cancel an Audiobase search by clicking on the search button again on the TUI controller. Previously the only possible way to cancel a search was via the search button on the screen. Version v2.5.0a7 ---------------- * New feature - drag and drop jpeg (still image) files onto the timeline. * Bug fix - Fixed a bug introduced in an earlier version which caused the clipboard to get offset when moving with the mouse. * Bug fix - fixed potential crash to do with quicktime DV100, DV50 .mov files. * Improvement - Now in when in non-layered display mode, if you left click on a clip and release it the clip is no longer placed on the top layer but stays on the same layer. This makes it easier for people who accidently picked up a clip to leave it where is was. If you wish to move the clip to the top layer with the mouse you need to move the clip away and than back and than it will be placed onto the top layer. * Bug fix - Where the audio scrollers could sometimes display an incorrect copy profile when clips were being moved by the mouse, when they should not be displaying any copy profile for mouse editing. Version v2.5.0a6 ---------------- * Improvement - Xynergi Softpot choice now extended to include all 12 aux sends. * Bug fix - fixed a bug associated with corrupt huffman codec files. * Bug fix - several Decklink ADR video graphics fixed. * Improvement - The Decklink card is switched off during Export Video, to increase available memory. * Improvement - The Decklink card now runs at the effectuve (true) rate . e.g.: If your project rate is 30fps, 1000:1001 pull ratio, the decklink card will run at 29.97 * Improvement - Previously, HD video fades to/from black may not play back in real time. * Bug fix - Fixed a crash that could occur when jogging zoomed out with an audio scroller displayed. * Bug fix - (#619438) LTC or MTC chase could spuriously locate somewhere strange and go into Play after master clock reset. Version v2.5.0a5 ---------------- * Improvement - Xynergi enhanced Clip Level layout is now "remembered" when returning to Clip Level. * Bug fix - (#654247), fixed problems with AES31 export (and consequently AAF export) from Dream II. * Bug fix - Previously unable to export a 23.98 AAF or AES31 project. * Compatibility - fix endian ambiguity in AIFC data to do with omf files from digidesign digtranslator (from Mac). * Bug fix - Fix for a certain type of Quicktime file where it should play back at PAL size but was not becuase off header issues in the QuickTime file. * Improvement - Loading a project no longer affects the default project type in new project, it is only defined by new project now. * Improvement - Export Audio Normalise Gain setting is no longer remembered between exports, as this gain is only relevent to the current audio export. Now defaults to 0dB on each export. * Bug fix - It was possible for the video underrun message to appear from the Pyxis view even if the Pyxis view was not enabbled. * Bug fix - Previously Tape mode recorded clips did not have a bwf timestamp * Improvement - Previously Tape mode record drop out was slow. * Improvement - Much improved control of Clip EQ Frequency. This now has a correct log scale, with fine control available via the SHIFT key modifier. * Bug fix - The counting of media before MT Save did not include unused local media (waveforms in the MT file). If there were too many media the Save could appear to succeed but actually fail. The fault would not be noticed until next time the project was loaded. Now a dialog box advises you to Save As a new MT project, which eliminates the problem. * Bug fix - Removed duplicate bit display for video clips. * Improvement - improved video clip "flip fields" behaviour. * Improvement - tweaked Quicktime file timing behaviour. * Bug fixed - Fixed a bug with the ADR display where it may not display a bit of ADR text when in multiple cues, this bug appeared in the new 2.1 stream. * Bug fix - Fixed a case where the new red line on part of a clip which is longer than its source media would appear when it should not. * Bug fix - If Windows is set to use 'Windows Classic style' some buttons were being cut off on the bottom of dialogs, now fixed. * Bug fix - Fixed some problems saving changes to certain antique 24-track MT project files, that were created with old mfx1 or mfx2 software and subsequently upgraded by mfx3 or QDC. The projects did not expand correctly, and silently saved something less than all clips or media. * Improvement - 'Render video to "x"'' previously put the new video into the video drives FairligthAU\Media directory. Now it goes into the relative media foler (in the correct project folder) on the video drive when it is rendered, rather than the video drive's FairlightAU\media directory. * Bug fix - Fixed the Import Mix mechanism. This was previously unreliable and could not correctly import with an offset. * Bug fix - Fixed the AES-31 automation import mechanism. * Improvement - Added a new option into the Export Audio Tracks/Clips dialog, which takes the name only without any Prefix. this option is only available when "Selected Clips" is used. * Bug fix - Fixed a crash that would occur if you had soft edits enabled and you copied/cut a section of clip smaller than the soft edit size to the clipboard. Version v2.5.0a4 ---------------- * New feature - External channels can be accessed by Banking down from Live Feeds. They will be used to drive HUI fader channels. * New feature - Xynergi now offers Quick Edit mini-layout, accessed using SHIFT+Editor. Quick Edit provides a bunch of much-used edit functions, integrating the Jog Wheel in several (these have a jog icon on the button) Fade Head/Tail - hold down button, jog to adjust curve, release to apply Trim Head/Tail - hold down button, jog to trim position, release to trim Nudge + and - - works normally, but no need to access Nudge menu Clip Level - hold down button, jog to adjust level trim, release to apply * Bug fix - Xynergi no longer displays unwanted ALT layouts on mode changes. * New feature - Xynergi now displays Link Groups on the track buttons, using a horizontal bar. * New feature - In Xynergi, Blue + Track button unlinks and relinks Link Groups. This option is available in Setup->General Preferences->Projects. Switching off the background scan will free up memory and allow the system to boot quicker. If you choose to turn off the background scan, when you open a project and media is offline, you can use the new Relink Media tool to relink it. * Bug fix - Consolidating stereo media now includes all the entire media, irrespective of the handle setting, to ensure compatibility with MFX3 and QDC systems. * Bug fix - Fixed an issue with importing an AES-31 file where the offset on a clip could be displayed wrong. * Improvement - Have made the user message pane stand out more on the status bar. * Improvement - CC-1 back/front registers are only enabled with core firmware 381 and greater. Avoids a source of snaps and clicks when locating in Jog with earlier cores, that was introduced in v2.1.0b2. * New feature - The performance dialog now shows the percentage of Process(Virtual) memory that the application is using. * Improvement - The performance menu option is no longer disabled when there is no project open. * Improvement - Significantly reduced the amount of memory the media database uses within Dream II. * Bug fix - LTC initialisation was incorrect for SX20 v2.1.0. * Improvement - Improvement to how the video cache works. * Bug fix - Occasionally the text in the file menu could be displayed incorrectly. Now Fixed. * Bug fix - #600180 - The surface is more discerning about changing the smart pane. For instance: the Jump keys will no longer cause the base menu's smart pane to be re-selected. Version v2.5.0a3 ----------------- * Bug fix - #570588. Previously some long gop MXF files would crash Dream II. * Bug fix - #643706. Previously an exception when opening an AES31 file could cause Dream II to subsequently stop creating undo files. * New Feature - Record video direct to quicktime files. Currently "Motion Jpeg A" codec inside a quicktime file is supported, for SD & HD. Other codecs written direct to quicktime files will be supported in the future. * Bug fix - #642383 : some AIFF files did not open on the timeline. * Bug fix - Fixed an issue with the DR2 format whereby saving a project when FMC was not running caused a loss of automation data. * New Feature - On the Sync Smart pane where it used to say "Det' Sample Rate" it now says "True Rate" and displays both the true sample rate and frame rates obtained from using the pull up/down feature. * Bug fix - Fixed a GDI memory leak to do with the audio scrollers. * Bug fix - Fixed a rare multi-threading crash to do with changing displayed audio scrollers. * New Feature - If a clip on the timeline is longer than the source media that it referances, it now displays a red line on the clip for the section of the clip that has no media and is just returning silence. * Bug fix - Fixed an issue with the Goto Timecode dialog where it was possible to lose dialog Focus. * Improvement - The CC-1 DMA is now reset when the application starts up. This should make exiting and restarting the app sufficient to clear stalled DMA state. Previously exiting and restarting had no effect on stalled DMA. Requires core 381 or greater. * Bug fix - Fixed an issue with Rewire Instrument Inputs whereby the input configuration would be recalled and reset with a project. * Bug fix - Resolved a problem with Automation follows Edit when the number of copied clips is large. Previously, the copy could fail. * Bug fix - The video under-run message was broken sometime were between 2.0 and the new 2.1 versions, fixed so working again. * Bug fix - #641588. Use menu: File->Import->FCP XML Project These items are imported from a FCP XML file ... - video clips - audio clips - fades, crossfades. - clip level (static level only) - clip eq - if the clip had the "3 Band Equalizer" effect applied in FCP. (static eq parameters only). FCP XML files can be dragged onto the timeline. These items are not currently imported from a FCP XML file - nested sequences * New Feature - Now when you place a Quicktime file on the timeline that contains audio, Dream II can now play the audio natively out of the Quicktime file. This is limited to Quicktime files containing up to two channels of audio. If the Quicktime file contains more than two channels of audio than the audio will need to be imported like it used to work. Audio files that are being played directly out of a Quicktime file have a Quicktime icon on them. * Bug fix - If you mimimized Dream II while in full screen video mode, when you restored Dream II you would not be able to get out of full screen video mode. * Bug fix - Offset display on clips was displaying incorrectly when in non-layered view mode. * Bug fix - Some text on the Dream II window was not being updated after being in full screen video mode. * Bug fix - Some quicktime files (with a resolution of half the size of HD1920 x 1080 or smaller) displayed incorrectly when display mode (Pyxis Pro) was set to "Stretch Both" or "Stretch Vertical". * Improvement - Improvements so that the floating timecode display does not use up as much CPU. * Improvement - Before exporting audio files, a check is now made to determine whether the file will overflow the 4GB barrier, and an error message displayed. * Bug fix - Fixed a bug where marks that did not have a name assigned to them would not be highlighted in the marks list. * Bug fix - Previously using File>Import Video, with change scale, scale frame rate and crop/pad all switched on would crash the application. * Bug fix - Fixed a freeze that could occur when exporting video with burnt in timecode enabled. * Bug fix - #637985 Previously unable to Arm tracks 9-12 on Sony SRW-5500. Dream II machine control now differentiates between 8,16,24,48 arming. * Improvement - Various changes to reduce snaps and clicks when core mutes and un-mutes, for example, when jumping in Jog. Requires CC-1 firmware build 381 or greater. * Bug fix - Fixed a crash that could occur in File->Import Video, when crop/pad turned on. * Bug fix - Fixed discrepencies which could occur with the detected frame rate of some quicktime files. * Bug fix - Fixed a rare multi-threading bug that could occur with the audio scrollers displayed. * Improvement - AES31 import improvements. Some newer AES31 files that incorporate a new automation spec could crash Dream II. * Bug fix - During importing projects, now detects clips for which there is insufficient media and makes the clips shorter. * Bug fix - Fixed so that a clips offset is correctly initially set to zero when importing and AES31 file. * New Feature - Remove Click - brief audio spikes can be removed as follows: On Waves menu, select the track(s) with a click, position the playhead on the peak of the spike and press Remove Click key. Set the width of the spike, and press Enter to remove it. A short clip is created that uses a new copy of the media with the spike removed. This is a feature prototype that currently has several limitations: - The linear interpolation algorithm is always used. - The original clip must be same sample rate as the project. - The original clip must not be a linked stereo pair. - The region of the new clip must not intersect with fade in or fade out or ends of original clip. // --------------------- 2.1 Branch ----------------------------------------------------- Branched at version v2.1.0b23
